ROLDAN LOGISTICA is a conglomerate of Colombian companies, leader in providing comprehensive solutions for the supply chain.

Established in 1941, ROLDAN LOGISTICA focuses on creating each solution tailored to your business and logistics needs. With a presence throughout Colombia and a network of agents worldwide, we design and implement the solution for logistics projects of any size, supported by experience and support in state-of-the-art technology.

Before July 2017, they had their entire operation outsourced and managed by more than 10 providers in different data centers, now the administration and support of the application services for the business group (Roldan Logistica, Roldan y CIA., Rolco, Glodex, Logistics Free Zone and Feroldan) is 50% centralized and managed by Itera and running on AWS services.

Challenges

Although production is slowly beginning to resume in several parts of the world, the system is not yet at full capacity. Restrictions on air, sea and land transport, production reserves, political and social chaos make logistics difficult, directly affecting the income of companies in this sector.
Due to the sector he represents, Roldán was one of the clients most impacted by the effects of the global pandemic, reduced its operating budget by more than 30% and hopes to have a recovery in 2021 based on cost optimization and operational efficiency.
Taking into account the above, Roldán Logística shows that it has several of its core and non-core systems on different architectures, platforms and technologies with a fairly high capex cost. Also note that some on-premises components do not allow for lifecycles by wasting support for object storage.
